The Euphrates Institute is a Redding based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization working to cultivate peace globally and locally through education and community building. Our Summit will be an opportunity for us to come together as a community of global citizens to deepen our own connections and strengthen our practice of peace. You will undoubtedly leave the event inspired and empowered as a changemaker!
About the Summit/Gala
Our three day summit will include interactive workshops, group discussions, short talks and opportunities for you to connect individually with other participants at The McConnell Foundation. We will also convene a community forum, open to the Redding area public, for folks to come hear the remarkable stories and examples of community transformation and peacebuilding from our international guests, and share stories of their own resilience in the wake of the Carr Fire. The Summit will culminate with the River of Hope Gala (a stand-alone event) at the Sheraton Redding Hotel on Friday, March 29th, which will feature an inspiring talk from our Visionary of the Year 2019, peacebuilding awards, and musical performances.
These events are established to support the fundraising efforts of The Euphrates Institute to cultivate peace by sharing examples of global visionaries who have overcome adversity. Change makers like Victor Garpulee, a schoolteacher in Liberia, West Africa, who has lost multiple family members to war and his wife in childbirth. Rather than turning to violence or bitterness, Victor consistently and courageously educates young people on the importance of finding common ground between religions and tribes.
